Calmie Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2025
Calmie ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our Google Chrome extension, Calmie, and any related services.
1. Information We Collect
a. Emotion & Disagreement Detection
We analyze audio/video streams in your meetings to detect emotional cues and disagreement dynamics. We process this data only temporarily and only to provide real-time advice. We do not store the full audio or video content unless you explicitly choose to save a summary.
b. Brainwave Data (Optional)
If you use compatible brainwave-monitoring earphones, we collect stress-level data derived from EEG readings. These are used only to generate calming audio and are not stored longer than needed for real-time processing. Raw EEG waveforms are not retained.
c. Usage Metadata
We may collect non-identifying data such as timestamps of feature usage (e.g., when "Help" is clicked), feature preferences settings, extension versions, and error logs for debugging purposes.
d. Role & Influence Settings
Calmie allows you to input participant roles, influence levels, and designate a Decision Maker. These settings are stored locally in your browser to personalize experience and are not uploaded to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
- •Real-Time Features: To analyze emotional dynamics and offer immediate strategic advice and calming audio.
- •User Experience: To support features like the Help Button, role management panel, and personalized suggestions.
- •Quality & Improvements: To troubleshoot issues and enhance Calmie's functionality (using aggregated/anonymized data only).
3. Data Storage & Retention
- •Real-time analysis data is kept only temporarily and discarded after processing.
- •Role/influence settings are stored locally in your browser and not sent to our servers.
- •Usage logs are stored in anonymized form and retained only as long as necessary for debugging and improvement.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell or share any personal data or stress/emotion insights. We may share anonymized usage metrics or aggregated trends with trusted service providers (e.g., Chrome Web Store analytics) to improve Calmie—only under confidential agreements.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed by Calmie. This includes encrypted communication between your browser and Calmie (when applicable), and secure handling of any optional EEG connections.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- •Disable Features: You can disable EEG-based monitoring at any time by disconnecting your earphones or turning off the feature in Calmie's settings.
- •Local Data Management: You can clear local settings (roles, preferences) through your browser's storage settings.
- •Contact Us: For any concerns or requests about data handling, email us at support@calmie.ai.
7. Children
Calmie is not intended for use by individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you via the extension interface or via email (if you've provided one) before material changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
